The Cascina San Giovanni farm was founded in 2015 from a strong desire for change and a return to its peasant origins, healthy and natural, on the hills of the town of Roascio (CN) at 560 meters above sea level. The territory of the Alta Langa, after decades of abandonment, has become the ideal place to start a breeding of about ninety native Piedmontese Roccaverano goats. This old race, in danger of extinction themselves, produce less milk but of higher quality. Next to producing milk, they carry out the vital work of cleaning the grounds through the pasture, which is the main source of food.
